Defining HR Excellence

Defining HR Excellence - This event is being rescheduled.

Based on the standards of the Malcolm Baldrige Award, the Tennessee Center of Performance Excellence and the Nashville Area HR Excellence Award Program, this presentation will explore the meaning of "excellence" within human resources and focus on elements of effective HR strategy including:

Presenting an overall process to achieve excellence
Understanding economic, political and cultural forces that can impact the organization
Formulating and implementing business strategies aligned with the organization's mission and strategyAligning business strategies with organizational structure
Adapting accepted standards of business excellence to HR Excellence Measurement, analysis and knowledge managementAttendees of this session will also learn about the Nashville Area HR Excellence Program and how HR professionals can apply the program's criteria to measure and evaluate their own organization.

There is no fee for this meeting and parking is free. Please register as space is limited.

PHR/SPHR Study Group Information Meeting

For those interested in participating in a study group to prepare for the national SPHR or PHR certification exams this spring, we will be hosting an informational meeting on Tuesday, February 2 and 16 (repeat) at the law office of Miller & Martin, PLLC. There is no cost to attend. The study group will be closed to addtional members on March 9.

We are very excited that Miller & Martin, PLLC has agreed to host this informational gathering. At this meeting, we will discuss best nights for meeting, assign hosts and facilitators, and discuss study materials required. Light refreshments will be available.

Miller Martin has also offered to validate parking for this meeting; however, you must park in the garage located between the Marriott and the Martin Miller building (turn left into the garage after passing the Marriott on 4th Avenue). Parking will be validated for the One Nashville Place parking garage only.

HR Connect 4 is a new program designed for busy human resources professionals who want to learn about hot topics in a fast-paced, high-energy setting. This two-hour learning event is designed to bring four topics together in one learning experience.
